Bedaquiline Fumarate

What is Sirturo used for?

This medication must be used with other medications to treat active multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB) of the lungs in people with limited treatment options. Bedaquiline belongs to a class of drugs known as antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of the bacteria that causes TB. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.
